Grounded Connections is an outdoorsy women’s friendship community across the UK & Ireland. Each month we match you into a small group of 3–5 women, based on where you live, how far you’re willing to travel and the kind of adventures you actually enjoy – so you can make real-life outdoorsy friends, not sit in the background of noisy forums.

Once you are a member you complete a profile inside our app including how “feral” you are on our feral scale, your interests (hikes, cold dips, camping, gentle walks, etc.), the kind of people you'd like to meet and how far you’re happy to travel.

On the new moon each month, we use this info to match you with a curated group of 3–5 outdoorsy likeminded women.

You’ll get an intro message with your group, suggested midpoint and suggested activity for a first meet-up, maybe a walk a dip, something creative a forage, a nature based activity you all have in common!

Grounded Connections is for women who feel most themselves outdoors and are looking for genuine, in-person friendship.

You might have moved to a new area, be travelling or van-lifing, gone through a big life shift, or just realised that your current circle doesn’t share your love of hikes, cold swims and campfire chats. We currently match outdoorsy women all across the UK & Ireland - from remote Scottish islands and the Highlands, to the Lake District, Peak District, Snowdonia, Cornwall, cities and small villages in between.

When you join, you tell us your current location and how far you’re willing to travel. We only place you in groups where everyone is within each other’s travel radius, so meeting up is realistic!

Many of our members are in rural and remote areas, which is exactly why Grounded Connections exists. Matches in rural spots sometimes take a little more juggling and flexibility around distance and dates, but we prioritise people who haven’t been connected yet, and we only match when there’s genuine alignment.

We connect 95-97% of our members every month, however, if we can’t connect you in a given month, then your next month is on us – and you’re bumped up the priority list for the next matching cycle!
